These are genuine fittings taken off decommissioned ships: brass portholes, ship windows, deck and cabin lights, life rings and salvaged hardware, remounted as mirrors, wall pieces and lighting. Every piece carries the wear of its first life, so patina, mounting holes and exact dimensions differ from one to the next. Fifty-three in stock, $100 to $3,000.

What we stock

Porthole mirrors and unmounted portholes, ship windows, marine pendant and deck lights, life rings, and assorted deck hardware. Brass and bronze, mostly, with the original fasteners where they survived. Openings run from 14-inch opening rounds up to a 29.5-inch brass porthole mirror, and because each came off a different vessel the diameter is listed per piece rather than by size class.

Unlike the rest of what we sell, these are not new pieces in a heritage style. They came off ships. That is the whole point of the category and it is why each listing is one of one.

The buying decision

Decide first whether you want it mounted or raw. A porthole mirror arrives ready to hang. An unmounted porthole is heavy, has original bolt holes, and needs a wall that can carry it. Then check the diameter against the wall, because a 20-inch brass porthole reads very differently from a 12-inch one, and photographs flatten that difference. Because each is unique, when a piece sells it is gone.

Common questions

Are these real salvaged portholes or reproductions?

Real. They come off decommissioned vessels, which is why the bolt holes, the patina and the dimensions vary piece to piece.

How heavy is a brass porthole?

Heavy enough to need proper wall anchors rather than a picture hook. Weights are listed per piece because they differ.

Can salvaged ship lights be wired for a house?

The lights we sell as lighting are rewired to standard domestic fittings. Pieces sold as objects are not.
