Brass Signal Light (No. 17)
Originally built for shipboard signaling and visibility, the Brass Signal Light (No. 17) was designed to communicate presence and position in demanding marine environments. Used to convey information between vessels or along decks and ports, fixtures like this played a functional role in navigation and safety. Reclaimed from a decommissioned vessel, it carries the marks of service before being carefully preserved for a second chapter ashore.
What Is a Signal Light?
A marine signal light is a purpose-built fixture used to indicate position, movement, or status. Before modern electronic systems, these lights relied on durable housings, thick lenses, and clear visibility to communicate reliably in low-light and harsh conditions. Their role was practical and immediate, seen clearly, understood quickly, and trusted to work when needed.
Key Features:
-
Authentic Marine Signaling Fixture: Designed specifically for shipboard communication and visibility, reflecting the functional standards of maritime signaling equipment.
-
Reclaimed Brass Construction: Solid brass housing and hardware provide durability and weight, with a patina shaped by exposure, handling, and time at sea.
-
Thick Ribbed Glass Lens: The heavy glass lens protects the light source while enhancing visibility and diffusion, even in challenging conditions.
-
Protective Cage and Hardware: Reinforced framing and fasteners secure the lens and reflect the fixture’s working heritage.

Common Questions
Common Questions
How does delivery work?
Delivery is free on every order in the lower 48. Furniture ships white-glove: the delivery team schedules a window with you, carries the piece to its room, places it where it belongs, and removes all packaging. Smaller items, such as dining chairs, counter stools, lighting, rugs, and decor, ship free via FedEx or UPS.
How long until my piece arrives?
The estimated ship window is listed near the price above. Furniture is delivered in-home and typically arrives within two to four weeks, and the delivery team contacts you to schedule. Smaller items usually ship within a few business days with tracking.
Will my piece look exactly like the photos?
Close, but never identical. Each piece is hand-finished from natural and reclaimed materials, so grain, tone, and markings vary. That variation is what makes the piece yours.
Can I see the materials before I buy?
Yes. We mail free leather, fabric, and finish samples. Use the Request a Free Sample button above and we will send them to your door.
What if it arrives damaged?
Every piece is inspected before it ships. If anything arrives damaged, send us photos within 48 hours and we will repair, replace, or make it right at no cost.
