A Turkish patchwork rug is assembled by hand from fragments of older handwoven Anatolian rugs, cut to size, over-dyed or left as found, and backed as one piece. Because it is pieced from salvaged fragments, no two are alike and the pattern does not repeat. Twelve in stock, $700 to $2,500.

What we stock

Hand-assembled vintage Turkish patchwork and aged wool textiles, each pieced from handwoven fragments already worn to a soft, low pile. Colour and pattern vary rug to rug because the source fragments do.

The buying decision

Buy the specific rug, not the category, because each one is unique and the photograph is the product. Check the listed dimensions against the room rather than assuming a standard size, since these are cut from what was available. Wool over a low pile takes traffic well and hides dirt. The fragments are already decades old, so the wear you can see is most of the wear you will get.
